What do I need to qualify?

You will need just a few documents from you PCP, specialist, chiropractor or therapist stating the condition that you suffer from.  Most patients are able to find this information in their patient portal or after visit summary. If you need help obtaining your records, please call one of our patient care experts at 833-667-4665

Where do I send my documents?

Your documents can be faxed to
833-667-4665

Will I receive my card at my appointment?

No, you can expect your card to come in the mail within 3-7 business days to the address that is listed on your driver’s license.  If you have moved and want your card to be mailed to the most current address, you will need to bring your corrections card along with your driver’s license.

Will my insurance cover the cost of the doctor’s visit or certification?

No, because marijuana is still federally considered a Scheduled I drug, meaning it has “a high risk for addiction and no recognized medicinal value”.  Since marijuana is not an FDA approved drug, the insurance companies are simply not allowed to cover it.

What if my current doctor is not on board with my choice in using mmj?

Not all physicians are open to recommending cannabis as an option. This is often because they have not educated themselves on the potential benefits of medical marijuana. Dr. Metcalf and his team of doctors and nurses have been trained in the research and science behind how mmj works and benefits all of the chronic conditions.  Please call 833-667-4665 to discuss with one of our patient care experts.

Do I need to register online before my appointment?

No, we like to pride ourselves in taking you through the entire process beginning to end, so that when you leave our office there will be nothing more to do except wait for your card to come in the mail.

If you have registered online before your appointment, that is fine, just be sure to bring your UserID and Password with you at the time of appointment so we can finish the entire process for you before you leave.

Can a patient, under the age of 18 obtain their PA mmj card?

Yes.  A patient with a qualifying diagnosis can be certified, but must have a caregiver who is approved by the state to go and legally purchase medication for the patient.  MMS will walk you through the entire process.  Please call one of our patient care experts to navigate you through this entire process.  833-667-4665
